Both sides missed good chances as we extended our unbeaten run to nine with a 0-0 draw against Molesey, writes James Barrett-Sterling.
Team news
Mohammed Idris-Oshilaja returned from injury and came back into the side for Peter Adeniyi in the only change from Saturday. Ex-Robin Ronald Sobowale was named among our hosts' subs.
Kick-off
There was an unusual occurrence with this game as it pitted two brothers against each other - goalkeeper Alex Kozakis' sibling Antony played number 10 for our hosts and, as Molesey enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges, they clashed on 20 minutes.
Josh Andrews, by far the liveliest of our opponents throughout, fed a through ball which Antony raced onto but our Kozakis got down well to ensure the angled drive went the right side of the far post.
Our forwards weren't enjoying too much joy at the other end as the Moles backline kept them quiet, although Antonio Simione played a soft back pass towards keeper Liam Allen at one point.
Raheem Sterling-Parker read the situation and bore down on the rolling ball, Allen seemed to clatter into him on the edge of the box but the referee didn't give us anything.
Both sides kept prodding and probing in the freezing conditions and the closest we came to breaking the deadlock came just before the break.
Sterling-Parker burst through on goal as the home side called for offside. Allen came out to narrow the angle but, although our striker still had the opportunity to shoot, he tried to unselfishly square for Mickel Miller whom was offside and the chance disappeared.
HALF-TIME: 0 - 0
We came out after the break in the ascendancy and were the more potent going forwards for a while.
We forged a great chance to open the scoring before the hour mark but, from six yards out, an unmarked Sterling-Parker stabbed a first-time effort off target.
Molesey responded by building down the left and Lodge, whom began the move and kept running into the box, burst onto a low cross in our box. He was one-on-one with Kozakis whom went to ground early but, instead of taking on what seemed to be a cert scoring opportunity, the midfielder went to ground looking for a penalty - it was a strange decision and the referee was having none of it.
Bobby Price and Paris Hamilton-Downes put shots from distance off target as we pushed forward again, but our last true opportunity came in the last 10 minutes.
We won a corner which was cleared but a second delivery was met but the unmarked Danny Dudley but he couldn't guide his header on target and the chance went.
