Further to a charge being levied by the FA against Carshalton Athletic for fielding an ineligible player in the FA trophy fixture against Cray Wanderers on the 9th October we are pleased to report that the FA's decision has not excluded us from the competition.
The FA have ordered the replay to be held at Cray Wanderers ground on Wednesday 26th October. The match will be played to a conclusion including the possibility of
extra-time/penalties. Kick off will be 7.45. The winners will be at
home to Marlow on Saturday, 29th October.
About the charge
The reason for the ineligibility of a player was the late arrival of documents required to be with the FA by Friday 7th October that arrived on Monday 10th October. It was proven that the documents were sent on Thursday 6th of October by first class registered post and their late arrival was a result of the postal system.
Paul Dipre Club chairman who represented Carshalton Athletic in the case said "We apologise to Cray Wanderers and the FA for the inconvenience this has caused and thank the committee for arriving at a prompt and fair judgement."
