We recorded a fourth straight win since the start of the
season and the latest came at a happy hunting ground for one of our forwards.
Tommy Bradford scored in each half of our 3-0 win at East
Grinstead Town on Saturday and that made it five goals in three appearances for
him at the GAC Stadium.
But he saluted our backline as we came through arguably our
sternest test to date this season.
“It took us a while to get going and break them down but our
first goal came after a good move, involving about 15 passes I think, and we
kept a lot of possession after that,” said Bradford.
“I’ll always back us to score goals so keeping clean sheets
is important but Alex did well when called upon, although I think we protected
him well, particularly through Matty and Jahmahl.”
That first goal was grabbed by Brendan Murphy-McVey, which
was the midfielder’s first of the season, while Bradford moved onto four to
become current joint top scorer with Mickel Miller.
We next face Chipstead on Monday 29th August (KO
3pm).
